Breaking News: Gigi Ruf signs for Mons Royale.

Mons Royale are super excited to welcome one of the most passionate, stylish and progressive snowboarders on the planet into the family, as Mons founder Hamish Acland explains.

“Gigi Ruf is one of the most creative and iconic snowboarders in the world. Gigi has been atthe forefront of snowboarding for two decades and brings to Mons a wealth of experience, an incredible work ethic and a raw talent that inspires us. We are super excited to welcome himto the team.”

Mons Royale make high performance merino wool base and mid layers that don’tcompromise on style and those are values that Gigi epitomises. As he explains,

“I love using merino wool, for long days in the backcountry to cruising in spring time it works naturally to keep you warm and dry and Mons Royale’s gear is beautiful. It’s also great to know that I’m not adding to mountain of plastic waste as well by using a sustainablematerial.”

Gigi will once again be competing on the Freeride World Tour in 2019. In 2018 he won the Fieberbrunn stop and finished 4th overall in his first season on tour so is now looking to build on that in 2019. Alongside the Tour Gigi will be also be working on a two year film project with long time production partners The Pirates, which will be released in 2020.

With the new Mons Royale office in Innsbruck, Gigi has support in Europe, but offices Whistler, Canada and at home in Wanaka New Zealand also means Mons Royale offer a global network of support for athletes and sales.
